During the past two weeks, NCAI students took part in an event that some have dreaded and others have looked forward to: AP testing. AP tests are exams that the College Board offers for students who seek to take classes that have the difficulty of a college course. These Advanced Placement classes are infamous for being highly rigorous, with the purpose of preparing students for the AP exam. If a student passes an AP test, it might make them eligible to earn college credit.

At NCA, this 3 – 4 hour test was conducted in the Eagle Center and the Computer Lab in order to ensure that the students were in an environment where they could remain focused and do their best while testing. Students who took the exams were allowed to go home early once they had finished their exams so that they could rest. After the exams, the feedback received was mainly positive. Students feel that this test is very stressful and the preparation is laborious, given that test prep begins from very early in the year, but most felt satisfied with their performance and confident about their results. For some, these tests occupied all of their mental capacity the past few weeks. Many students took up to four exams!

In general, students felt that the test was made less stressful thanks to the thorough preparation they received in their prep classes. However, it is safe to say that all feel relieved that the exam season is over! This is a time where NCAI students can show their academic ability and reflect the quality of the education they receive, as well as possibly alleviate the amount of courses they take in college.
