Junior Senior Retreat 2017

This 24th and 25th of August, the juniors and seniors of NCAI went to Centro ABEM to participate in what is for some their last leadership retreat. The retreat highlighted the school’s mission of GRACIA (Gratitude, Respect, Authentic Love,Community, Integrity, Always learning). The teachers and administrators that attended the event gave talks to small groups in which they would speak about each letter in the acronym GRACIA, and we received better insight as to what the school’s mission is. The reason for highlighting this mission to Juniors and Seniors, is that as upperclassmen, we have to assume leadership roles and portray this message to the rest of the school. Each of the sessions was very dynamic and involved hands-on experience where we practiced those values on the spot. After the sessions, Mr. Norman led us in some team-building activities where we played games in groups and learned to work together to come out victorious. The team “The exploding Pineapples”, led by Miss Pasker, came in first place in the relay race. After the sessions and activities, we had free time where we relaxed and had fun in and around the pool area. We learned to strengthen relationships within a class and within the Junior and Senior class. Overall the retreat was very educational and entertaining, and it truly helped to bring these two classes together under the school’s mission of GRACIA, promoting each and every one of these values in the hearts of all of us.
