There are only a couple days left until graduation. Each senior you’ve gotten to know has passed through the process of high school, as the classes before them did, and they learned not only about English and math, and history and science,  but about themselves and how to navigate the world. We approached them about passing along some of their wisdom to the rest of the student body.

On School Life and Academics

“Just do your best! Never give up and enjoy every moment with your class.” -Diana A.

“Be ambitious and don’t settle for mediocrity. In everything you do, avoid apathy and give it your best.” -Gabriel

“Keep track of your absences, but also take lots of mental health breaks.” -Kaitlyn V.

“Don’t let school make you cry.” -Natalie

“Take extracurriculars before your senior year, too. Once you get to your last year of high school, you’ll need all the spare time you can get.”

“When you think it’s too late to be awake at night, IT IS TOO LATE!” -Noel

“Bring food to school. [It always gives you] something to look forward to.”

On Senior Year

“Don’t get Senioritis too soon.” -Michelle

“Make the most of every second of your Senior Year and learn how to deal with the dress code. At the end of the day, realize it’s not a big deal.” -Jailene

“Create a Senior Countdown to preserve your sanity.” -Kaitlyn V.

“Don’t overcommit. It’s awesome to be involved, but the detrimental stress and anxiety you may cause yourself isn’t worth another line of ink on your transcript.” -Peter

On Sports

“Play tons of sports and chillllll :)” -Kelsey

“If you plan to go for any athletic scholarships, start NOW. Competition is high and the scouts need your information for each year.” -Joel

On Relationships

“Don’t hold grudges. Forgive fast, move on.” -Insu Kim [Juan]

“If you like someone, tell them. Don’t forget to show your friends you care about/love them.”

“Hugs are good for the soul, so receive them and give them generously. -Laurie

On “Post-High-School”

“When you get to a classroom, let the people leaving the classroom exit first, before you enter. You have already arrived before the bell, but they still have a limited amount of time to completely transition to their next class.” -Jessie

“WASH YOUR HANDS before and after you go to the bathroom (unless you’re just in there to cry).”

“Be honest and it always works out in the end.” -Noel
