Ellen Rosenberger, former NCA teacher and wife to Mr. Rose<\/span>, recently wrote her first book called Missionaries Are Real People. It launched May 1st on Amazon!<\/p>\n

Missionaries Are Real People discusses what life is really like on the mission field. Ellen Rosenberger grapples with the real problems, real needs, and real emotions that missionaries experience, bringing to light the struggles that are not talked about but are very real. She writes openly about depression and burnout, exploring the difficulties of transitions and overcoming conflict. Ellen addresses abuse, struggles with faith, and grief. By talking about these normally overlooked issues, Missionaries Are Real People aims to bring clarity and healing to silent hurts.<\/p>\n

Having grown up on the mission field and having spent most of her adult life there, Mrs. Rosenberger\u00a0knows what it\u2019s like to have struggled to live under the pressure to be perfect. She\u2019s felt the pain of hidden struggles and masked over issues. And she\u2019s experienced freedom and healing in being vulnerable about her imperfections as a missionary. This book is not about methodology or theory, but about real life stories and experiences. It\u2019s about the multi-faceted dynamics of missionary relationships with all their joys and struggles.<\/p>\n

Missionaries Are Real People unveils the unspoken realities of missionary life, not for the sake of shaming but for the purpose of restoring. The time is now to break down stereotypes, to speak up for what is really going on, and to seek solutions.<\/p>\n

The book is divided into five parts, each one focusing on a different missionary relationship: the missionary\u2019s relationship to the host country, to other missionaries, to self, to God, and to the home country. There is also a whole chapter dedicated to raising and relating to missionary kids. Finally, Mrs. Rosenberger shares her experiences growing up in Bolivia and talks about the pressure to be perfect and other MK issues.<\/p>\n
