I want to take the time to share how I was blessed on Friday, November 13. Along with some of my fellow juniors, I was able to attend a Bible Study. As always, our leader Carmen invited us to eat pizza with her. (Thanks, Carmen, you know we are always hungry after school!) More importantly, she gave her time to serve and share her heart with us.<\/p>\n
After a great afternoon, we headed to Neonplify Youth Group.\u00a0I enjoyed the topic of the night because it made me reflect on the impact that we young people can make in all the talents we develop.<\/p>\n
A few years ago, I learned that God is the creator of the arts (music, dance, literature, sculpture, painting, etc.) and that we should use our gifts in the service of the Creator, in order to impact the world around us.<\/p>\n
I\u2019ve come to realize that our light can shine brightly, especially in the areas that we have skills and strengths. <\/span><\/p>\n That evening at Neonplify, the Lord taught me through the preacher in the video we watched. The preacher was speaking about dance and how we can be young and healthy, without be influenced by worldly music, exotic dances, or substances that influence how we act.<\/span><\/p>\n On Friday, our leaders organized a small group activity. This “neon activity” showed that praise and worship can be mixed with a fun environment. In turn, this environment can change and transform us.<\/span><\/p>\n I think we should do more activities where we dare to be different, each in his or her area of strength. Then we will be making a difference in what we do.<\/span><\/p>\n Sometimes I feel that people believe that playing trendy music or doing fun activities without a specific purpose will make us, as young people, happy.
