The Haunting of Link Manor

Story told by Mr Link, adapted by Grace Vilchez.

A long time ago, but not as long ago as you might think, there was a boy named Jason Link. During this time, Jason was living in Nicaragua, in a house that functioned like a hotel, and he was the one in charge. This house, however, was special because of its reputation for strange occurrences.

Once, Jason’s sister and her friend stayed there and while they were in their room they heard a woman crying in the bathroom, trying to open the door. The odd thing was, there was no one inside. Another time, his mom had been staying there and heard someone shaking the doorknob from outside her room.

One day, a missionary team arrived. Jason was trying to scare them by telling them these stories. After most of the team left for dinner, Jason, alone in the supposedly haunted house, grew increasingly uneasy. He decided to watch a movie to distract himself.

As he stepped out of his room, he noticed that one of the lights from across the hallway was turned on. He walked over, turned it off, and returned to his room. Later he saw the same light was turned on again. His body completely froze. He felt like all the blood in his body was drained.

Determined to confront what was happening, he grabbed his Bible and opened it to a random psalm. Jason started marching towards the room screaming the psalm at the top of his lungs. Reaching the room, he shouted, “In the name of Jesus, whatever you are, GET OUT!” He opened the door to find a startled woman on the bed. She asked, “Did you turn off the light while I was in the bathroom?” Jason, flooded with embarrassment, admitted he had. He closed the door and returned to his movie.

When the missionary team returned, Jason told them what had happened. Some of his friends found it amusing, but it was super awkward with the lady that was in the room for the rest of the time she was there. Luckily, no further strange incidents happened in that house ever again.
