“A good basketball team is one that enjoys the sport, plays well together and works hard to continue improving their basketball skills,” shared head coach, Amanda Gutierrez.
NCA’s JV girls basketball team practices with our older Varsity team every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 2:30-4:00. There are two awesome coaches, Mrs. Amanda Gutierrez and Mrs. Kait Isaak. They work so hard and I am so thankful for their commitment to our team. Also a big thanks to Mr. Turner, too, for arranging games for our team.
Basketball, in my mind, is a way to express our thanks to God for the awesome gift of life and the ability to play sports. Not only that, but we can also connect with other teams and coaches through playing basketball.
Coach Gutierrez says, “My hope for the JV basketball team is that they learn to love the sport and have a desire to improve their basketball skills as well as grow in areas like leadership and accepting new challenges because being part of a sports team can give you a variety of skills for life.”
